This action denies requests for extension of the comment period for the notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) titled "Normalizing Unmanned Aircraft Systems Beyond Visual Line of Sight Operations" that was published in the Federal Register on August 7, 2025.
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited Model DHC-8 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by reports of cracked barrel nuts at the wing front spar and horizontal stabilizer to vertical stabilizer joint. This proposed AD would require repetitive inspections for cracking and corrosion of the affected barrel nuts and applicable corrective actions. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2019-16- 09, which applied to certain De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited Model DHC-8-400 series airplanes. AD 2019-16-09 required one-time inspections for cracks and damage of the elevator power control unit (PCU) brackets and surrounding area, horizontal stabilizer rear spar, elevator front spar, and related investigative and corrective actions if necessary. Since the FAA issued AD 2019-16-09, new findings have been reported as a result of maintenance activities and/or inspections. This AD continues to require certain actions in AD 2019-16-09 and requires repeating the inspections one time and performing applicable on- condition actions. This AD also removes an airplane model from the applicability and provides optional terminating action for repetitive inspections. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is revising a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) that would have applied to certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11 airplanes. This action revises the NPRM by adding a requirement to re-identify the ceiling panel liners. The FAA is proposing this airworthiness directive (AD) to address the unsafe condition on these products. Since these actions would impose an additional burden over those in the NPRM, the FAA is requesting comments on this SNPRM.
The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2022-25- 51, which applied to all Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD- 500-1A10 and Model BD-500-1A11 airplanes. AD 2022-25-51 required revising the Limitations section of the existing airplane flight manual (AFM) to include a new warning and a new limitation. Since the FAA issued AD 2022-25-51, updated primary flight control computer (PFCC) software has been developed to address the unsafe condition. This AD continues to require the actions in AD 2022-25-51, requires installing the updated PFCC software, which terminates the AFM revision, and removes airplanes from the applicability. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD- 500-1A11 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by a report that, during a quality check in production, it was found that some of the tie rods supporting the overhead stowage compartments in the passenger cabin did not have enough thread engagement of the turnbuckle into the tie rod. This proposed AD would require an inspection for proper thread engagement of the tie rods and, if necessary, adjustment of the tie rod engagement. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD- 500-1A11 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by the discovery that titanium fasteners had been incorrectly installed in the butt strap at the outer wing box lower skin to center wing box interface in lieu of the correct nickel alloy fasteners. This proposed AD would require the identification of fasteners installed in the butt strap at the outer wing box lower skin to center wing box interface, and applicable on- condition actions. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD- 500-1A11 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by reports of certain fuel transfer float valves failing in the closed position, preventing normal fuel transfer between the center and wing fuel tanks. This proposed AD would require replacing the existing fuel transfer float valves on airplanes that are approved for extended-range twin-engine operation performance standards (ETOPS). The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500- 1A11 airplanes. This AD was prompted by reports that the interface pin of the secondary load path in the upper gimbal of the horizontal stabilizer trim actuator (HSTA) was incorrectly installed. This AD requires a detailed visual inspection of the interface pin of the HSTA to determine if the interface pin is incorrectly installed, and applicable on-condition actions. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH (DAI) Model DA 42, DA 42 NG, and DA 42 M-NG airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by several reports of passenger door separation from the fuselage. This proposed AD would require revising the existing airplane flight manual (AFM) for your airplane to provide the flight crew with revised operating limitations, emergency procedures, and normal operating procedures; modifying the airplane; and repetitively inspecting the door latching and safety hooks for correct engagement, foreign objects, damage (including but not limited to corrosion and wear that exceeds specified limits), and proper function. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

This AD was prompted by a report of multiple in-service failures of engine feed check valves, which have resulted in fuel imbalance conditions in flight. This AD requires repetitive replacement of the left-and right-side engine feed check valves with new engine feed check valves and prohibits flight dispatch under certain conditions. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
This action proposes performance-based regulations to enable the design and operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) at low altitudes beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) and for third-party services, including UAS Traffic Management (UTM), that support these operations. The FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 directs the development of this proposed rule. This proposed rule is necessary to support the integration of UAS into the national airspace system (NAS). This proposed rule is intended to provide a predictable and clear pathway for safe, routine, and scalable UAS operations that include package delivery, agriculture, aerial surveying, civic interest, operations training, demonstration, recreation, and flight testing. TSA proposes to make complementary changes to its regulations to ensure it can continue to impose security measures on these operations under its current regulatory structure for civil aviation.

The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Honda Aircraft Company LLC (Honda) Model HA-420 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by the discovery of a gap between the trailing edge wing nut plates and leading edge aileron balance weights being less than the minimum required clearance. This proposed AD would require replacing the affected left and right aileron fixed balance weights with reduced geometry fixed balance weights. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A11 airplanes. This AD was prompted by an investigation of an in-service hydraulic fluid leakage event that indicated the potential use of an uncalibrated torque wrench when tightening the union fittings at the pressure and return interfaces of all three rudder hydraulic power control units (PCUs). This AD requires properly torquing the rudder PCU hydraulic fittings and applying the torque seal on the rudder PCU hydraulic fittings. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

This AD was prompted by the need to ensure proper thrust reverser system status and function and to minimize the possibility of thrust reverser operation in flight or before landing. This AD requires revising the limitations and normal procedures sections of the existing airplane flight manual (AFM). The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Textron Aviation, Inc., Model 560 and 560XL airplanes. This AD was prompted by reports of mis-wired fire extinguishing bottles. This AD requires an engine fire extinguisher system functional test, an inspection of the fire extinguisher bottle cartridge wire numbers and yellow ID sleeves for proper identification and legibility, and applicable corrective actions. This AD also requires revising the existing inspection program to incorporate new airworthiness limitations for repetitive inspections of the engine fire extinguisher wiring and, as applicable, auxiliary power unit (APU) fire extinguisher wiring. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2023-26- 05, which applied to certain Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. (Pilatus) Model PC- 24 airplanes. AD 2023-26-05 required periodic replacement of affected titanium threaded bolts, a one-time inspection of the rudder mass balance arm and other elements of the rudder trim tab installation for correct attachment, damage (gouges), cracks, deformation, surface finish, and corrosion on any surrounding parts and, depending on findings, the accomplishment of applicable corrective actions. Since the FAA issued AD 2023-26-05, it was determined that some batches of titanium bolts had variations in the microstructure that could affect the fatigue characteristics. This AD requires replacing affected short rudder-trim control rod assemblies with serviceable rudder-trim control rod assemblies having threaded steel bolts and prohibits the installation of affected parts. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2025-07- 04, which applied to all Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD- 500-1A11 airplanes. AD 2025-07-04 required a review and disposition of all existing repairs and damage assessments for affected structure, corrective actions if necessary, and the prohibition of certain repair engineering orders (REOs). Since the FAA issued AD 2025-07-04, the FAA determined that the list of acceptable generic repair engineering orders (GREOs) specified in table 1 to paragraph (h)(3) of AD 2025-07- 04 was added in error. This AD continues to require review and disposition of all existing repairs and damage assessments for affected structure, which includes GREOs that were identified in AD 2025-07-04, corrective actions if necessary, and the prohibition of certain REOs. This AD was prompted by reports of in-service findings of corrosion on the flange of the MLG lower spindle pin. This AD continues to require certain actions in AD 2022-19-09. This AD also requires changing the tracking of flight cycles for inspections from the usage of the MLG to the usage of MLG lower spindle assemblies and replacement of affected MLG lower spindle assemblies, removes airplanes from the applicability, and prohibits the installation of affected parts under certain conditions; as specified in a Transport Canada AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

This action extends the comment period for the request for comment published on April 3, 2025, titled "Request for Comment to Withhold Certain Aircraft Registration Information from Public Dissemination." FAA is seeking comments on the impacts of removing certain aircraft registration data from public display on FAA's website, including through current search functions and published reports. The removal of this data is intended to satisfy the requirement in section 803 of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, requiring removal of private aircraft owner or operator Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from broad dissemination or display by FAA, including on a publicly available website of FAA. FAA is extending the comment period to allow commenters additional opportunities to provide feedback on this topic.

The FAA proposes to supersede Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2021-22-12, which applies to certain Honda Aircraft Company LLC (Honda) Model HA-420 airplanes. AD 2021-22-12 requires removing and cleaning the inner diameter of the flap control pushrods and repetitively applying corrosion inhibiting compound (CIC) to this area. Since the FAA issued AD 2021-22-12, new flap control pushrods have been approved that are more corrosion resistant and do not require repetitive CIC applications. This proposed AD would retain all actions of AD 2021-22- 12 and would require replacing the flap control pushrods with improved design pushrods for all airplanes affected by AD 2021-22-12, as well as for other airplanes not affected by AD 2021-22-12. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
