The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500- 1A11 airplanes. This AD was prompted by reports of certain fuel transfer float valves failing in the closed position, preventing normal fuel transfer between the center and wing fuel tanks. This AD requires replacing the existing fuel transfer float valves on airplanes approved for extended-range twin-engine operation performance standards (ETOPS). The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to supersede Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2025-06-01, which applies to all Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11 airplanes. AD 2025-06-01 requires revising the existing airplane flight manual (AFM) to incorporate the procedures for the flightcrew to manually isolate the opposite functional engine in the event of an engine bleed duct large leak condition. Since the FAA issued AD 2025-06-01, an electronic engine control (EEC) software update has been developed to address the unsafe condition. This proposed AD would continue to require the actions in AD 2025-06-01 and would require installing a certain EEC software update on both engines. This proposed AD would also remove airplanes from the applicability. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bell Textron Canada Limited (BTCL) Model 407 helicopters. This proposed AD was prompted by a determination that chafing can occur at various locations on the electrical harnesses located in the aircraft instrument panel area. This proposed AD would require a one- time detailed visual inspection of the electrical harnesses for chafing and corrective actions if necessary. This proposed AD would also require rotation of the backshell cast housing of connectors of the lower engine airframe unit and installation of a wire harness bracket and support, and for certain helicopters, installation of a wire bundle sleeve. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited Model DHC-8-401 and -402 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by multiple in-service reports of cracks in elevator power control unit (PCU) brackets (fittings) and the elevator front spar. This proposed AD would require replacing bushings and installing new washers on the elevator PCU arm fitting assembly, installing doublers at the front spar of the elevator structure assembly, replacing horizontal stabilizer rear spar elevator PCU fittings, and applicable on-conditions actions. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
These special conditions are issued for the Pratt and Whitney Canada (PWC) aircraft engine model PW220A. This engine will have a novel or unusual design feature when compared to the state of technology envisioned in the airworthiness standards for engines. This design feature is an additional one engine inoperative (OEI) power rating that combines the 30-second and 2-minute OEI power ratings into a single rating. The applicable airworthiness regulations do not contain adequate or appropriate safety standards for this design feature. These special conditions contain the additional safety standards that the Administrator considers necessary to establish a level of safety equivalent to that established by the existing airworthiness standards.
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bell Textron Canada Limited (Bell) Model 427 helicopters. This AD was prompted by a report of a cracked transmission oil check valve (check valve). This AD requires inspecting and measuring certain check valves and, depending on the results, repetitively inspecting and removing the check valve from service if it has leaks or is cracked. This AD also prohibits installing the affected check valves on any helicopter. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11 airplanes. This AD was prompted by events where the cargo bottle fail caution message was displayed. This AD requires replacing affected low rate discharge (LRD) bottles, inspecting extinguishing discharge lines and tubes, and replacing extinguishing discharge lines and tubes, as applicable, and also prohibits the installation of affected LRD bottles. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bell Textron Canada Limited Model 429 helicopters. This proposed AD was prompted by reports of incorrectly installed lockwire on the stability and control augmentation system (SCAS) actuator jam nut. This proposed AD would require inspecting the installation of the lockwire on the SCAS actuator jam nut and, if the lockwire is incorrectly installed, removing the lockwire and installing a new lockwire correctly. This proposed AD would also prohibit the installation of an affected SCAS actuator assembly unless certain requirements are met. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to supersede Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2024-04-06, which applies to certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11 airplanes. AD 2024-04-06 requires repetitive operational checks of the gravity cross flow shut-off valve and, for certain airplanes, a one-time inspection of the motive flow fuel-feed tubes at the clamp blocks location, and applicable corrective action. Since the FAA issued AD 2024-04-06, the manufacturer developed additional corrective actions. This proposed AD would continue to require the actions in AD 2024-04-06 and would require replacement of the saddle clamp, inspection of the motive flow fuel-feed tubes, and applicable corrective actions. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bell Textron Canada Limited (Bell) Model 407 helicopters. This proposed AD was prompted by a report of a fractured pilot cyclic stick tube and subsequent findings of other pilot cyclic stick tubes with fatigue cracking. This proposed AD would require repetitively inspecting the pilot cyclic stick tube assembly for a crack and, depending on the results, repairing or replacing the pilot cyclic stick tube assembly. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2025-06- 51, which applied to certain Bell Textron Canada Limited (Bell) Model 505 helicopters. AD 2025-06-51 required removing all ballast weights from the aft movable ballast box assembly and prohibited the use of ballast weights within the aft movable ballast box assembly. Since the FAA issued AD 2025-06-51, Bell has developed a modification to the ballast box door assembly and the FAA has determined that the new actions would terminate the requirements of AD 2025-06-51. This AD requires installing the modification to the aft movable ballast box door assembly. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500- 1A11 airplanes. This AD was prompted by an investigation that showed a change in the feed-through connector O-ring material at a certain frame increased the electrical bonding resistance due to the current torque specification being inadequate. This AD requires electrical bonding tests between the feed-through connectors and the forward side of the bulkhead at a certain frame, and the installation of two electrical bonding plates, as applicable. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

This proposed AD was prompted by reports of cracked barrel nuts at the wing front spar and horizontal stabilizer to vertical stabilizer joint. This proposed AD would require repetitive inspections for cracking and corrosion of the affected barrel nuts and applicable corrective actions. The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD- 500-1A11 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by the discovery on the production line that the electrical system harnesses in lavatory A had reduced bend radii, were not properly secured, and did not meet the requirement for clearance from an oxygen supply line. This proposed AD would require an inspection of the sleeve and electrical harness for chafing damage and incorrect installation, and applicable on-condition actions. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

Since the FAA issued AD 2019-16-09, new findings have been reported as a result of maintenance activities and/or inspections. This AD continues to require certain actions in AD 2019-16-09 and requires repeating the inspections one time and performing applicable on- condition actions. This AD also removes an airplane model from the applicability and provides optional terminating action for repetitive inspections. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
The FAA is revising a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) that would have applied to certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11 airplanes. This action revises the NPRM by adding a requirement to re-identify the ceiling panel liners. The FAA is proposing this airworthiness directive (AD) to address the unsafe condition on these products. Since these actions would impose an additional burden over those in the NPRM, the FAA is requesting comments on this SNPRM.
The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2022-25- 51, which applied to all Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD- 500-1A10 and Model BD-500-1A11 airplanes. AD 2022-25-51 required revising the Limitations section of the existing airplane flight manual (AFM) to include a new warning and a new limitation. Since the FAA issued AD 2022-25-51, updated primary flight control computer (PFCC) software has been developed to address the unsafe condition. This AD continues to require the actions in AD 2022-25-51, requires installing the updated PFCC software, which terminates the AFM revision, and removes airplanes from the applicability. The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD- 500-1A11 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by a report that, during a quality check in production, it was found that some of the tie rods supporting the overhead stowage compartments in the passenger cabin did not have enough thread engagement of the turnbuckle into the tie rod. This proposed AD would require an inspection for proper thread engagement of the tie rods and, if necessary, adjustment of the tie rod engagement. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

On January 17, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published an interim final rule in the Federal Register amending the CBP regulations to add implementing regulations for the preferential tariff treatment and related customs provisions of the Agreement Between the United States of America, the United Mexican States, and Canada (USMCA) related to general definitions, drawback and duty- deferral programs, textile and apparel goods, and automotive goods, among others. Errant amendatory instructions resulted in the inadvertent omission of two conforming amendments and the removal of two paragraphs that were unrelated to the USMCA amendments. This action corrects those errors.

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A11 airplanes. This AD was prompted by an investigation of an in-service hydraulic fluid leakage event that indicated the potential use of an uncalibrated torque wrench when tightening the union fittings at the pressure and return interfaces of all three rudder hydraulic power control units (PCUs). This AD requires properly torquing the rudder PCU hydraulic fittings and applying the torque seal on the rudder PCU hydraulic fittings. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

AD 2025-07-04 required a review and disposition of all existing repairs and damage assessments for affected structure, corrective actions if necessary, and the prohibition of certain repair engineering orders (REOs). Since the FAA issued AD 2025-07-04, the FAA determined that the list of acceptable generic repair engineering orders (GREOs) specified in table 1 to paragraph (h)(3) of AD 2025-07- 04 was added in error. This AD continues to require review and disposition of all existing repairs and damage assessments for affected structure, which includes GREOs that were identified in AD 2025-07-04, corrective actions if necessary, and the prohibition of certain REOs.
