The Coast Guard is establishing temporary safety zones around each tall ship visiting the Great Lakes during the Tall Ships Challenge 2025 race series beginning on July 10, 2025 through October 1, 2025. These safety zones will provide for the regulation of vessel traffic in the vicinity of each tall ship in the navigable waters of the United States. The Coast Guard is taking this action to safeguard participants and spectators from the hazards associated with the limited maneuverability of these tall ships and to ensure public safety during tall ships events.
The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for the Monongahela River on June 28, 2025, from mile marker 122 to mile marker 122.5, to provide for the safety of life on the navigable waters during a fireworks display. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Pittsburgh, or a designated representative.
The Coast Guard is establishing 85 temporary safety zones around the construction of individual wind energy facilities during the development of the Sunrise Wind Farm project area. The Coast Guard will enforce the safety zone for the Coronado Glorietta Bay Fourth of July Fireworks on the waters of San Diego Bay, CA on Friday, July 4, 2025. The Coast Guard is proposing to establish a temporary safety zone for certain waters of the Gulf of America, near Sand Key Beach in Clearwater, Florida during the Clearwater AquaX Grand Prix event. This action is necessary to provide for the safety of life on these navigable waters near during a high-speed jet ski race taking place on August 23, 2025 and August 24, 2025. This proposed rulemaking would prohibit persons and vessels from being in the safety zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Sector St. Petersburg or a designated representative. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA or Agency) is amending the deadline for reporting pursuant to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Health and Safety Data Reporting rule, which requires manufacturers (including importers) of 16 specified chemical substances to submit lists and copies of certain unpublished health and safety studies to the EPA. Specifically, the EPA is amending the reporting deadline for all 16 chemical substances subject to the rule to May 22, 2026, through final action.
