Existing law, the Physical Therapy Practice Act, establishes the Physical Therapy Board of California within the Department of Consumer Affairs for the licensure, approval, and regulation of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. Existing law repeals those provisions on January 1, 2027, at which time the board is subject to review by the appropriate policy committees of the Legislature. This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to evaluate the Physical Therapy Board of California through the joint legislative sunset review oversight process and to subsequently include in this bill recommendations produced through that process. The bill would also make nonsubstantive changes to the above-described provisions.
