Existing law prescribes incarceration in the state prison as punishment for certain crimes. The California Constitution grants the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) the sole authority to award credits earned for good behavior and approved rehabilitative or educational achievements. Existing statutory law requires CDCR to submit a report to the Legislature and the Legislative Analyst's Office whenever CDCR proposes regulatory changes affecting the earning of credits by inmates. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that requirement.
