Existing law assigns to the Superintendent of Public Instruction numerous duties related to the State Board of Education and to the management of the State Department of Education relating to the governance of the public elementary and secondary schools in the state. This bill would assign specified duties of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to an undesignated Secretary of Education, including, among others, to superintend the schools of this state and to execute the policies that have been decided upon by the state board.
